The new era for McLaren Automotive started with the debut of the MP4-12C. The legacy left by the McLaren F1 is now being seen and felt across a range of super cars that has taken the market by storm. The team at MW Design Technik took the super car and gave it a new set of Brixton Forged M53 Targa Series wheels then put them on display with a super model.
MW Design Technik took the mid-engined super car to the next level visually. The entire MP4-12C was covered in a new vinyl wrap from Wrap-Workz Vancouver. The wrap features a dark black metallic finish with special matte black graphics along each door with the McLaren logo and ‘22’ numbering.
The biggest eye-catching part of the McLaren MP4-12C conversion is the new set of Brixton Forged M53 Targa Series wheels with their powerful super concave depth. Each wheel features lightweight back pockets with a three-piece forged aluminum construction, exposed hardware, and floated spoke ends. This creates a lower rotating mass for better overall performance.
On this McLaren MP4-12C, the Brixton Forged M53 Targa Series wheels were given a slick Forged Bronze face with matte clear finish and Forged Bronze lips with a gloss clear finish. Up front, the three-piece forged wheels measure 9.0 x 20 while the rear comes in at a staggered 12.0 x 21 setup with a deep concave. To complete the fitment, the entire suspension was sharpened up thanks to AWE Tuning.
While the visual aspects of the McLaren MP4-12C are the focus, MW Design Technik didn’t forget about the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-8 engine hiding behind the driver. The force-fed motor is more noticeable thanks to a new IPE Innotech exhaust system that lets it be heard and felt.
The McLaren MP4-12C might be out of production, but it ushered in a new era for the British brand and still looks like a monster today – especially with Brixton Forged wheels.
