Benz’ answer to the E30 M3 Sport Evo: the 190E Evo 1.
It sports wider wheel arches (than the base 190E) and a spoiler big enough to put STis to shame. But the main upgrades are under the metal. Brakes are bigger, and a track suspension, that could be adjusted using a switch on the dashboard, was thrown in the mix. With only 502 units being produced it’s no wonder you’ve only seen this car (or a DTM variation) in Gran Turismo 2.
All that is nice, but this car was modified into a track car. Rear seats were removed, a beautiful roll cage was added (LOOK AT IT!), and that the checkered aluminum flooring adds a nice touch. The engine… a 4-cylinder 2.5L pushing 289 hp! That’s serious power considering the displacement. All that with 69,000 km on the clock for 44,900 Euros.
