Wash, rinse, repeat.
We all know of the insane power and straightforward, steroid-injected muscles sitting under the hood of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. It’s a thing of pure automotive excess and we absolutely love all 707 supercharged ponies.
In Brighton, Colorado, just northeast of Denver, one new owner of a Challenger SRT Hellcat had a bit of a bad accident just one hour into ownership.
According to TFLCar.com, the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) released this report:
”This crash took place at 8:07pm MST on December 19th, 2014. The 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat driver, 34-year-old Lance Utley of Winter Park, CO, was traveling northbound on Riverdale Rd. The driver lost control to the right, then overcorrected and lost control to the left, and struck a tree head on. There were two additional occupants in the vehicle. The driver was charged with careless driving. Drugs or alcohol were not involved. There was no mention of excessive speeding. All three occupants were unhurt.”
The Sublime Green Pearl Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat was brand new and the driver was speeding down a very dangerous corner that had already claimed the lives of Garrett D. Sessions and Rebecca A. Morgan. A warning sign sits there in their memory.
Thankfully nobody was hurt, except for the brand-spanking-new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. Let this serve as a reminder that with great amounts of power comes greater responsibility, folks.
