Motorcyclists vs truck driver.
Like cars vs. cyclists, there’s always going to be a war between motorcyclists and other drivers. A few bad apples on both sides spoil the bunch and create stereotypes that are often not true. This road rage incident in Henderson, Nevada got out of hand very quickly.
While there are two sides to every story, the one from the motorcycle rider has video to back it all up.
A group of dirt bikers were on their way to do some trail riding and were admittedly not behaving like model riders on the way to the trails, but also weren’t harassing other drivers. Upon getting yelled at by multiple people and getting flicked off by the passenger in a red Silverado, the motorcyclist with the camera decided to go knock on the window of the passenger at a stop light and ask why he was flipped the bird.
Then things got way out of hand. The driver grabbed a pistol from his center console and threated to shoot him and others while his finger was on the trigger. Thankfully, the motorcyclist was able to deescalate the situation and prevent a shooting.
According to the motorcyclist:
“YES I ADMIT I WAS IN THE WRONG FOR GOING UP TO THE WINDOW. YES THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE POLICE. I ALSO WANT TO POINT OUT THAT I HAVE BEEN CLEARED BY THE POLICE FOR ANY WRONG DOING.
Okay, so a little bit of a back story. We are out riding and on the way to ride some trails off road. One of ours guys did get in the dirt for a min. Someone else came and said that he got it on camera. He went to the back of his vehicle and said he got his plates on camera too. The guy in the red truck didn’t like what he’d seen apparently and started flipping the bird and trying to get a reaction from everyone in the group. I went to ask why they are flipping me and everyone off and this is what resulted of that. Stay safe out there everyone, you never know what kind of person you are going to be dealing with at the end of the day. I am thankful to be alive. That sounds crazy to say, I am glad the gun didn’t go off. Even if it would have been an accident, because he clearly don’t seem to know how to handle the weapon.”
According to a Fox5Vegas, the man who pointed the gun claimed that he felt threatened by the riders and had a concealed carry permit. He was going to file a report with the police.
Regardless of who was acting like a jerk on the road, pulling out a gun or any weapon is never a good idea.
