We can say “don’t drive drunk” until we’re blue in the face, but for some reason there are idiots out there who get behind the wheel of a vehicle and drive while under the influence. This incident in DeKalb, Illinois is just another example of why it’s the worst thing that you can do with a motor vehicle.
Fourty-three-year-old Samuel Salas left a bar on a Saturday night in a Jeep with his girlfriend in the passenger seat, clearly drunk. He was so drunk, he even admitted that he was hammered in a pathetic attempt at an excuse for his actions.
Salas managed to get behind the wheel of the Jeep and drive away from the bar that he and his girlfriend were drinking at while another patron was recording cell phone video. Upon pulling out into the street, he decided to make a left-hand turn at the intersection. The only problem was that he did not have the right-of-way and pulled out in front of an oncoming car, badly damaging the vehicle.
The person recording the incident and others rushed to the scene to help while scolding the stupid actions of Salas.
Thankfully, those involved suffered only minor injuries, according to Inside Edition.
Salas was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, according to The Daily Chronicle.
Please, don’t drive drunk or under the influence and never let a friend do the same.
