Two new vehicles and a partnership with Ant Anstead.
Two big-time figures in the UK are teaming up to make a statement in the automotive industry in more ways than one. Afzal Kahn of A Kahn Design and Ant Anstead, founder of vehicle manufacturer, Evanta, and star of “For the Love of Cars” are both teaming up in a collaborative partnership under the Ant-Kahn banner. The partnership has already begun work on two vehicles and they will definitely be head-turners when they roll out of the factory.
The partnership is perfect for both companies. The special design and automotive customization from the team at A Kahn Design paired with the modern manufacturing and coach-building capability of Evanta combine to create the perfect formula for high-end British vehicles with Ant-Kahn. Both of the design and production centers are based in the UK and the partnership will focus on quality and an unmatched attention-to-detail with their coach-built vehicles.
“We are already working on exciting future plans that extend from coach-built special editions to series manufacture of motor vehicles, and you will see a number of models come to fruition in the coming weeks and months,” explained Afzal Kahn.
“Together, we are dedicated to continuing and building upon the historical excellence of British vehicle manufacture and the traditions of hand finished coach building are at the heart of the company’s ethos,” said Ant Anstead.
The recently-announced partnership of Ant-Kahn has already yielded some exciting news. Two vehicles are in the pipeline and promise to provide a very special driving experience. The new Flying Huntsman Land Rover Defender and Evanta Barchetta will offer up a high-end, custom-tailored feel with modern technology and an incredible attention-to-detail.
Based on the classic Land Rover Defender, the Flying Huntsman will be a ‘long-nose’ Defender packed with a GM LS3 V-8 engine and a booming 550 bhp. An extra 400 mm of bodywork was added onto the SUV’s nose prior to the windshield. The potent engine will send power through a push-button-controlled six-speed automatic gearbox. The Flying Huntsman was previewed earlier this year and the prototype is already nearing completion.
Alongside the plans for the Land Rover Defender Flying Huntsman sits the Evanta Barchetta two-seat, open-top speedster. Inspired by the classic sweeping curves and smooth profile of the cars that blazed trails in 1950s motorsports, the Barchetta serves up a sweet blend of vintage driving character with some modern technology. A composite Kevlar body and tubular frame form the beautiful body and chassis while a 6.2-liter GM LS3 engine spits out 450 bhp. The handcrafted Barchetta will be designed and built in Britain using traditional coach-building methods and be limited to just 20 cars per year. The low weight and high power output coupled with its vintage design will make it an instant hit when it is unveiled at the Goodwood Revival motor show on September 12th.
The new Ant-Kahn partnership may be relatively new, but it’s already providing some very exciting and promising news that will quickly grab the attention of many in the automotive world. Stay tuned!
