The new G-Power BMW M4 GTS breaks the 600-HP Mark!

A few modifications go a long way.

It didn’t take long for the limited run of 700 BMW M4 GTS models to completely sell out, despite their 142,600-euro price tag. The hardcore, track-focused model with innovative water injection system is the pinnacle of the model line, and G-Power was one of the first to get their hands dirty with developing an upgrade program.

Just like their supercharged BMW M3 GTS back in 2011, the new model has even more power and excitement packed into it for the track. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine saw both of its turbochargers modified with in-house-developed larger turbine and compressor wheels inside CNC-machined housings. This allows more air to be moved with greater efficiency, improves throttle response, and reduces exhaust gas temperatures for an increase in boost pressure. Also cutting down on backpressure are new in-house developed stainless steel downpipes without catalytic converters.

With the new hardware installed, G-Power gave the BMW M4 GTS their Bi-Tronik 2 V3 custom software mapping that optimizes the fuel, ignition, and boost curves to result in a total of 615 horsepower at 6,500 RPM and 561 lb-ft. of torque from 4,000 to 5,500 RPM. After the upgrades, the G-Power BMW M4 GTS can accelerate to 62 mph from rest using launch control in just 3.6 seconds, while reaching a top speed in excess of 199 mph after the removal of the electronic speed limiter.

As an option, customers that don’t want the new engine hardware can opt for just the G-Power Bi-Tronik 2 V3 to get 575 horsepower and 546 lb-ft. of torque.

Also coming as an option for those looking to squeak out every bit of performance from the German sports car are available G-Power Hurricane RR 21-inch forged alloy wheels with high-performance tires. The low overall weight of the forged wheels cuts the rotational mass at the wheel hub, which in turn leads to better performance from acceleration to handling and braking.

The full range of G-Power upgrades are currently available for the BMW M4 GTS, with the basic Bi-Tronik 2 V3 costing 3,250 euros. The modification of the turbochargers costs 3,650 euros, while the new downpipes are priced at 1,780 euros and Vmax removal at 668 euros. Those that opt for the new Hurricane RR forged wheels and tires will be forking up an extra 7,647 euros.
