A little tune goes a long way.
G-Power knows all about making fast cars go even faster thanks to a variety of modifications. Their software tuning knowledge however, is second-to-none and they’ve put that experience on display with their new upgrade program for the BMW F8X M3 and M4 models, starring their new Bi-Tronik 2 V2 ECU remap.
Tuning a vehicle’s ECU software isn’t just a simple task. Thanks to BMW’s 128-bit encryption, it requires some extensive work to crack into the system before any tuning takes place. G-Power put their 30+ years of experience to the test and developed the Bi-Tronik 2 V2 ECU remap that is custom-tailored to each individual car as opposed to a generic software remap. All of the factory diagnostic and protection systems are retained while extensive dyno and road testing are undertaken to ensure the proper software tune.
Both the BMW M3 and M4 models can also benefit from a new G-Power exhaust system with downpipes and valve flaps as well. The new downpipes reduce backpressure for the turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six and flow into the G-Power titanium exhaust with quad 90 mm pipes in titanium or carbon fiber to shed 15.7 lbs. of weight. A new remote-controlled sound flap inside the muffler allows for drivers to change the volume from the courteous to the menacing.
The resulting performance is thrilling. The BMW M3 and M4 models equipped with the G-Power Bi-Tronik 2 V2 and full exhaust system can produce a total of 560 horsepower at 6,500 RPM and 531 lb-ft. of torque at 4,500 RPM. This also allows both of the sports cars to scoot to 62 mph in just 3.8 seconds. Customers can also opt for the removal of the top speed limiter which allows for a theoretical top speed of 205 mph, although the sports cars will likely top out at 193 mph.
In addition to the engine modifications, the BMW M3 and M4 can be equipped with G-Power Hurricane RR forged wheels. The 21-inch wheels are available in Jet Black, Gun Metal Grey, Stardust Silver, or any custom colors, and wear 245/30 ZR21 and 295/25 ZR21 Michelin performance tires.
The new G-Power Bi-Tronik 2 V2 ECU software tuning is currently available for both the F8X BMW M3 and M4 models for 2,750 euros with the top speed removal for 668 euros. The downpipes are priced at 1m610 euros and the full titanium exhaust at 5,164 euros. The 21-inch Hurricane RR forged alloys can be purchased for 7,647 euros.
