A Category 5 Hurricane moves into the M3.
The “Hurricane” name has been a big part of G-Power’s history. The German company has given the name to quite a few models that they have tuned to be the fastest and most powerful, similar to the disastrous weather. Cars like the M5 Hurricane RS, M5 Hurricane RR, LPG-powered M5 Hurricane GS, M6 Hurricane RR, and even the G1 V8 Hurricane RS have all become the cream of the crop for BMW models. But the name has never donned the BMW M3, until now.
Although the E9X-generation BMW M3 will soon be replaced by the M3 and/or M4, the new G-Power M3 Hurricane RS and its performance won’t be surpassed anytime soon.
The 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated V-8 engine from the factory is completely different in the new M3 Hurricane RS. At the heart of the upgrade is the new G-Power M3 SK III Sporty Drive supercharger system using an ASA T1-742 supercharger to feed boost into all eight cylinders. The internals were strengthened with new forged MAHLE pistons, forged connecting rods, and a modified crankshaft that increases displacement to 4.6 liters, because there is no replacement for displacement. A custom-tailored cooling system that increases the capacity of both oil and water systems, and includes an intercooler system that helps to reduce thermal stress. Getting all of that exhaust gas out of the tailpipes even quicker is a new lightweight titanium exhaust with free-flowing 100 cpsi catalytic converters, and reduces weight by approximately 57 lbs.
With the new supercharger system and engine overhaul, the G-Power M3 Hurricane RS is capable of laying down 720 horsepower at 8,100 RPM and 516 lb-ft. of torque at 5,900 RPM. This enables the sports car to reach 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds and 124 mph in 9.5 seconds. Top speed is pushed all the way back to 211 mph (340 km/h).
Playing an important role in the performance of the G-Power M3 Hurricane RS is the full carbon fiber aerodynamic package. The autoclave carbon fiber kit includes a new front spoiler that generates downforce at the front axle and a new lightweight G-Power Venturi hood with Dynamic Venting technology that helps to dissipate heat and reduce engine temperatures, allowing for better overall performance. At the rear sits a new full trunk lid including tear-off edge to increase downforce at the rear axle for better overall stability at high speeds. In all, the hood saves about 5.7 lbs. and the trunk lid sheds another 17.9 lbs. of weight for better overall performance.
The G-Power M3 Hurricane RS is a complete car when it comes to performance. Handling is aided by a new G-Power adjustable Clubsport coilover system and a new G-Power set of ceramic brakes that include six-piston, 396 mm brakes up front and four-piston, 380 mm brakes at the rear. Finishing off the chassis upgrades is a new set of G-Power Silverstone Diamond forged wheels in a 20-inch diameter with sticky 255/30 ZR 20 front and 295/25 ZR 20 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
Like all of the G-Power models, the new M3 Hurricane RS is available as a complete car for 161,176 Euros or as individual accessories. The supercharged engine upgrade is priced at 41,650 Euros, the front spoiler for 1,800 Euros, Venturi hood for 3,600 Euros, and trunk lid for 3,300 Euros. The wheel and tire set is available for 4,474.79 Euros while the front brakes are 14,460.50 Euros and the rears come in at 11,778 Euros.
