Cracking the German code.
It pays to have experience in the aftermarket tuning industry. As sports cars and vehicles in general become more advanced and complicated, knowledge gained over past decades acts as a trump card to obstacles that can oftentimes pop up. G-Power was able to crack the ECU encryption for the E8X BMW M3 and M4 engines, opening up a world of power to tap into.
The 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged inline-six cylinder engine powering the new BMW M3 and M4 sports cars has plenty of pep and potential right from the factory but its software programs are on lockdown thanks to a 128-bit encryption system. G-Power and their experienced engineers were able to break the code and install their recently-developed G-Power Bi-Tronik 2 V2 ECU remap software to unleash the engine’s potential all while retaining the same drivability, reliability, and factory diagnostic and protection systems.
In addition to the G-Power Bi-Tronik 2 V2 ECU remap, a pair of G-Power downpipes can also be added to reduce backpressure. These are mated to a new titanium exhaust system with quad 90 mm tailpipes sporting a titanium or carbon fiber finish. A new remote-controlled sound flap system is also incorporated into the rear muffler allowing the vocal chords of the German sports car to open up. As an added benefit, the system cuts 15.65 lbs. of weight.
The addition of the new G-Power Bi-Tronik 2 V2 ECU software and exhaust system allows the twin-turbocharged inline-six to spit out 560 horsepower at 6,500 RPM and 531 lb-ft. of torque at 4,500 RPM. That’s good enough for a 0-62 mph acceleration time and theoretical top speed of 205.05 mph. However, with the optional removal of the factory top speed limiter, the BMW M3/M4 can reach 192.63 mph.
Of course, a new set of G-Power Hurricane RR forged wheels go along nicely with the new ECU tune and exhaust upgrade on the BMW M3 and M4. The ultralight forged aluminum alloy wheels measure 21 inches in diameter and wear 245/30 ZR21 and 295/25 ZR21 Michelin tires to grab the asphalt. G-Power offers the wheels in Jet Black, Gun Metal Grey, and Stardust Silver finishes along with custom colors for an additional cost.
The new G-Power Bi-Tronik 2 V2 ECU software tune is currently available for 2,750 Euros with the top speed limiter removal an additional 668 Euros. The exhaust system, downpipes, and forged wheels are also available separately or as a full package.
