Zee Germans take on an American.
In the world of sports cars, there’s a bit of an American and German rivalry between cars such as the Corvette against that of the 911. It’s not often that you see a Corvette across the pond, and it’s even rarer to see one be tuned by a German company. The GeigerCars C7 Corvette Z06 takes American muscle and adds some German engineering.
The first thing that the team at GeigerCars worked on was the all-new, mighty 6.2-liter V-8 fed by a 1.7-liter Eaton TVS R1740 supercharger. Zee German engineers created a full engine upgrade package developed in-house that pushes power all the way to 730 horsepower and 696 lb-ft. of torque. As a separate option, customers can also choose to install a sport exhaust system with valve control that emits a thundering 94 decibels of red, white, and blue.
In order to better handle the added power, GeigerCars designed a new suspension setup for the Corvette Z06. The suspension upgrade kit reduces the overall ride height for better handling, grip, and stability with the new aerodynamic kit. The engineers included a set of offset steering knuckles to ensure that the geometrical accuracy of the suspension was not affected in its range of travel.
Aerodynamics also play a key role in the new performance upgrade program from GeigerCars for the Corvette Z06. The front fascia benefits from a new carbon fiber lip with small flaps on either side that reduces lift and directs air away from the front wheels. The underbody of the front bumper is also smooth to optimize aerodynamic efficiency.
Each side of the American sports car boasts contoured side skirts the channel air away from the rear axle and reduce drag. The smooth underbody theme carries over to the rear where a new diffuser with integrated tailpipes optimizes airflow. Atop the trunk sits a new spoiler to generate downforce and improve stability.
The new GeigerCars Chevrolet Corvette Z06 performance conversion and upgrades are currently available. The engine performance is priced at 2,990 Euros, the sports exhaust for 4,900 Euros, chassis lowering for 5,500 Euros, and aerodynamic kit for 9,900 Euros.
