A “subtle” visual package.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222) is one of those classy and elegant full-size executive sedans that just has a commanding presence without an array of aggressive or in-your-face styling. It’s clean and contemporary design does all the talking. German Special Customs decided that they would enhance these looks with a “subtle” exterior design package.
Using the term “subtle” might not be appropriate when describing the German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz S-Class at first glance. Compared to their other exterior design packages, however, the description fits.
The German tuning company used a Mercedes-Benz S350L to showcase their new upgrades with its 15 cm of added length. The front fascia was completely redesigned with a new bumper and spoiler combo with integrated splitter. A large mesh central intake is surrounded by two larger side intakes with LED daytime running lights. Above, sits a new GT hood with air vents and sculpted lines for a more powerful look.
Thin side skirts run between the front and rear fenders and visually lower and lengthen the German luxury sedan. At the rear, a new bumper with vertical air vents for the fenders help to dissipate heat generated by the brakes. The lower portion of the bumper features a new black valence where the German Special Customs sports exhaust system is integrated with S65 AMG trapezoidal tailpipes.
To showcase the new visual upgrades, German Special Customs had the front splitter, front grille, hood vents, roof panel, side mirrors, rear insert, and trunk spoiler wrapped in a high-gloss black foil to make them stand out. Each piece can be ordered in GRP or carbon fiber.
To complete the visual transformation, German Special Customs opted to install a new set of BBS CH-R II alloy wheels. The two-piece wheels measure 21 inches in diameter and wear 285/30 ZR21 front and 255/35 ZR21 rear Continental Sport Contact tires for improved ride quality and dynamics.
The new German Special Customs exterior kit is currently available for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222) models including the standard and long wheelbase versions. The company also offers ECU tuning for all of the engines in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class model range.
