Road-going racecar.
The GT2-spec BMW M3 racecar is all about performance and no compromises. It wears all sorts of aerodynamic goodies, wider front and rear tracks, and numerous other racecar upgrades that make it the king of the racetrack. The M3 GT2 also looks like the most intimidating and powerful BMW on the racetrack; a design that CLP Automotive has developed for the street.
The German specialists in body kits at CLP Automotive have created a GT2-look kit for the BMW E92 M3 Coupe. Nicknamed “Interceptor,” the new body kit helps transform the M-performance coupe into the M3 GT; a road-going racecar. The kit includes a front carbon fiber bumper with spoiler, mesh grille, and large air intakes. A new hood with larger air outlets helps reduce heat in the engine bay and wider front fenders feature air outlets to help cool the braking system. Each of the rear fenders have been extended and flow into the wider rear bumper with air outlets and tow hook. A large rear spoiler similar to those found on the GT2 racecars completes the exterior body work.
The racecar look of the BMW M3 GT is finished with the upgraded wheels and suspension. CLP Automotive installed 9 x 19 front and 12 x 19 rear wheels in a white finish to match the exterior color. The staggered wheels also wear center caps that create the illusion of a central locking mechanism, behind which is the standard five-lug fastening system. Bilstein optimized suspension modifications provide a lower center of gravity and improved handling.
Under the hood of the BMW M3 GT is something slightly different than the GT2-spec car. The V-8 is still there, but there’s a distinct orange compressor atop of the engine. G-Power’s bright orange supercharger supplies the 4.0-liter with a steady stream of boost and pushes output all the way to 600 horsepower. Exhaust gasses are blown through an Akrapovic titanium exhaust in a thrilling fit of rage.
Just like the racecar CLP Automotive has taken steps to reduce weight and improve safety for the M3 GT. New Recaro seats have been installed up front for better lateral support and a roll cage was added for safety.
The entire CLP Automotive BMW M3 GT is currently available for € 69,000 (+/- 94,000 USD). CLP Automotive also offers the “Intimidator” body kit individually for € 8,880 (+/- 12,000 USD).
