The Mercedes-Benz 300SLR ‘Uhlenhaut’ Coupe is considered one of the most expensive automobiles in the world and is a truly special car that will likely never be sold. In the 1950s, the 300SLR was considered to be the world’s fastest car and there are quite a few tales that surround its performance that just add to its legendary status.
Simon Kidston, of Kidston SA, was able to get behind the wheel and actually drive the super-rare automobile thanks to the team at Mercedes-Benz Classic and five deep into the history and intricate details of the 300SLR. It’s an eight-cylinder 3.0-liter, 300-horsepower car that is beautiful in almost every way and offers an incredibly unique and inspiring driving experience. It even comes wits its own personal mechanic.
