Sharing the love for those that drive on the opposite side of the road.
Here in the United States, we aren’t lucky enough to enjoy those right-hand-drive vehicles that the folks in England, Japan, and other parts of the world get to drive. The team at A Kahn Design, however, is more than happy to accommodate the customer, just like with all of their automotive fashion statements. The new Land Rover Defender XS90 2.2 TDCI Chelsea Wide Track is that special left-hand-drive flavor for other parts of the world to enjoy.
Although the steering wheel may be on the proper side (or improper depending on your country), the rest of the looks are what we’ve come to expect from the British design company. The front fascia of the Land Rover Defender sports a new bumper with integrated lights, sump guard on the bottom, new mesh, and X-Lander front grille in satin black. The same satin black finish is used on the new Chelsea Wide Track extended front and rear wheel arches with integrated vents and exposed bolt apertures to add a muscular contrast. New mesh is also utilized for the hood, fender, and side vents for a more exclusive look. At the back, a new Chelsea Truck Company spare wheel cover sits proudly, displaying its new roots above the stainless steel cross-hair exhaust outlet.
But the team wasn’t finished there with the exterior transformation. They swapped out the factory wheels for a new set of 8.0 x 18 1983 RS Defend wheels for a more rugged, off-road look with exclusivity. The satin black finish and factory center caps provide the perfect amount of contrast for the liquid red painted brake calipers sitting behind them. The final touch for that rugged look are new rubbed mud flaps.
Inside, the left-hand drive SUV has all the goodies and spreads that wealth all over, literally. Both the front and rear passengers benefit from new Sports GTB seats trimmed in quilted orange leather with alcantara inserts. The center glove box wears a mix of quilted orange and black leather while the entire headliner is made from soft alcantara. Moving up towards the piano black center dashboard surround sits a new Churchill time clock with black fascia while the drivers gain a new leather-trimmed billet steering wheel and machined aluminum foot pedals. Hiding that all is dark-tinted privacy glass.
The new Kahn Defender XS90 2.2 TDCI with Chelsea Truck Company Wide Track is currently available as a complete vehicle for £54,875. Customers can also custom-tailor their own Land Rover Defender with any of the featured upgrades as well.
