Putting the ‘S’ in SUV.
The Audi Q7 doesn’t exactly evoke driving passion like other vehicles in the Audi lineup tend to do. It’s a big, SUV that focuses on ride quality and technology. That’s not bad, but some drivers yearn for that athleticism, and ABT Sportsline was able to achieve that visually and from behind the wheel with the ABT QS7 upgrade package.
A great deal of focus went into both the 3.0-liter supercharged gasoline and 3.0 TDI diesel engines. The former gets a boost up to 410 horsepower and 383 lb-ft. of torque while the former goes up to 325 horsepower and 501 lb-ft. of torque thanks to the ABT Power “New Generation” tuning upgrade. Both engines can also be fitted with the angular four-pipe exhaust system for a bit more flash and dazzle.
And the engines were only part of the sportier solution in the ABT Sportsline QS7. The SUV also gets a more aggressive visual makeover consisting of a choice between a widebody or narrow-body aero package. The widebody kit features extended fenders, a new front skirt, door strip attachments, and rear skirt set plus a rear wing. The narrow-body version includes all the aforementioned upgrades save for the extended fenders.
To go along with the new visual upgrades, the ABT Sportsline QS7 can be outfitted with a range of new wheels. ABT Sportsline offers a choice between their CR-, DR-, and FR alloy wheels in 9.0 x 20 or 10.0 x 22 sizes with 285/45 R20, 295/30 R22, or 205/30 R22 Dunlop high-performance tires. A suspension upgrade is also in the works that will provide a more dynamic ride.
Inside, the ABT QS7 also gains a few extra goodies. While it’s not a complete transformation, new ABT floor mats, trunk mats, and door entrance lights do make a more luxurious statement for the SUV.
The new ABT Sportsline QS7 upgrade program is currently available for both diesel and gasoline variants of the Audi Q7.
