Yeah, we’re not sure why you’d do this.
Some people do stupid things for attention and to show off. Others do them because they are just stupid. We don’t know this driver’s reason for going into the Great Salt Lake in Utah, but at the end of the day, it’s just a stupid idea.
This driver drove his Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder LP570-4 Performante into the Great Salt Lake and did donuts and power slides around an Audi R8. Just looking at the name of this lake should tell you why it’s bad – there’s high salt content in the water. Driving in it will cause water to get throughout the underbody and into parts, which will corrode over time quicker than parts that haven’t been exposed.
Ask anyone that lives in the northern part of the United States where it snows and salt is used to melt snow and ice on the roads. It will cause corrosion everywhere. Suddenly, parts will turn a brownish-red and just fall apart from rust. It’s not fun and if there is a way to prevent exposure to salt, you’d better take it.
