Breaking Barriers with the HPE1000.
Performance cars today have incredible amounts of power. The days where 200- or even 300 ponies under the hood being impressive are quickly melting away as 700-, 800-, 900-, and even 1000+ horsepower engines are flying their way to infinity and beyond. Even with the incredible state of horsepower today, the 1,000-horsepower mark is still an almost unattainable status that sets you in a league of your own. Hennessey Performance was able to reach that with the HPE1000 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C7).
Right off the factory floor, the new Corvette Z06 has all the ordnance to battle its higher-priced exotic competition. A 6.2-liter, supercharged V-8 spouts off with 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft. of torque, but Hennessey Performance wanted more, much more.
In comes the HPE1000 – a diabolical program for power that hits the 1,000 bhp mark and makes the Corvette Z06 an untouchable American supercar. The 6.2-liter’s supercharger was swapped out for a 2.9-liter unit with a new intercooler, high-flow intercooling system, and heat exchanger. Inside are new forged pistons, forged steel rods, a custom HPE camshaft, and ported cylinder heads for better airflow, power, and durability. The task of getting the exhaust gasses out as quickly as possible falls on a pair of long-tube stainless steel headers, stainless steel midpipes, and high-flow catalytic converters. A full HPE engine management calibration optimizes all of the new systems and ensures that they work in harmony while ample dyno and road testing makes the supercar ready for the streets. All of this results in a 1,000 bhp at 6,500 RPM output for the American monster.
As part of the HPE1000 package, the Corvette Z06 is fitted with a new Hennessey Performance custom hood, serial-numbered dashboard and engine plaques, exterior badging, and floor mats. Customers can also opt for new Hennessey Performance H10 monoblock wheels and carbon fiber door sill plates for that exclusive touch.
Each Hennessey Performance HPE1000 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 comes standard with a 1-year/12,000-mile limited warranty. The full upgrade program is currently available from the American aftermarket tuner.
