Putting some charge in the supercharged beast.
We all know the legend of the Hellcat. Dodge’s decision to give the middle finger to everyone with a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine packing 707 horses in the Challenger was absolutely brilliant. While 707 horsepower is more than most exotics are putting down, it’s not enough for some. So, Hennessey Performance stepped in and created their HPE850 package.
The new Hennessey Performance HPE850 for the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat includes a new lower pulley that increases boost pressure by 1 to 2 PSI, a port matched throttle body, high-flow air filter, new ECU and new software.
That relatively small list of upgrades and some dyno testing/tuning leads to a whopping 852 horsepower at 6,200 RPM. So, that Hellcat is even more devilish.
In case the added tire-shredding power doesn’t immediately distinguish the muscle car as the more powerful variant, the HPE850 emblems, Hennessey badging, serial-numbered plaques, and embroidered headrests surely will.
To show just how much faster the new HPE50 Dodge Challenger Hellcat is, Hennessey lined it up next to a factory model for a good ‘ol fashioned drag race. And you can guess who came out on top.
