Go fast and spend a lot of money.
The Hennessey Performance Venom GT is no stranger to stealing headlines. Its combination of mind-boggling power figures and a super-low weight are the perfect starting point for a hypercar. These two aspects have helped it set a Guinness World Record for acceleration and shatter some top speed numbers, and to celebrate the American company is building a limited run of three Venom GT World’s Fastest Edition models for a whopping $1.25 million, each.
“The Venom GT is America’s supercar and it broke 270 mph on the same runway where the Space Shuttle landed at the Kennedy Space Center,” said company founder John Hennessey. “We wanted to offer a special paint scheme that would incorporate the colors of the American flag—the same flag we flew on the Space Shuttle runway. Thus, our special livery package includes a body in white with red and blue stripes.”

The 7.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 sitting behind the cockpit roars with 1,244 bhp. Its job – other than sounding like it just opened a portal to hell – is to propel the feather-light 2,743-lb. chassis into triple-digit speeds as quick as possible. This has helped the Venom GT take the Guinness World Record for 0-300 km/h (186 mph) acceleration record of 13.63 seconds. That alone is impressive, but the hypercar wasn’t done there as it reached 270.4 mph at the Kennedy Space Center in February.
“We’re thrilled about what we achieved at Cape Canaveral with the Venom GT,” said Hennessy CEO Don Goldman, “and now the World’s Fastest Edition is a living, breathing celebration of that record achievement.”
To celebrate the feats, Hennessey Performance will build three cars, each clad in the red, white, and blue colors of the United States flag it carried at the Kennedy Space Center. With only three cars being built at $1.25 million each, the Venom GT WFE will be one of the rarer vehicles in existence.
