Twin-Turbocharged Madness!
The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is the most powerful production Camaro ever, right from the factory with a total of 580 horsepower and 556 lb-ft. of torque coming from a supercharged LSA V-8 engine. But Hennessey Performance can get more from the ZL1, way more in fact thanks to their HPE1000 twin-turbocharged upgrade.
Screw the supercharger (pun intended). Hennessey Performance strapped on a pair of turbochargers to the 427 cu. in. V-8 engine. The motor was outfitted with all sorts of new forged internals from the camshaft to the crankshaft, equipped with a new air-to-air intercooler, dual K&N air filters, and a full stainless steel exhaust system. That’s good for a total of 1,000 horsepower at 6,400 RPM after some tuning, but the dyno is a bit of a different story.
Even with a few drivetrain losses, the Hennessey Performance HPE1000 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 spins those rear wheels with a whopping 876 horsepower to the rear wheels, which is an incredible feat. Plus, it sounds evil while doing it too.
