Grab your tissues, this is going to be tough to read.
The Ferrari F40 was one of those cars of the late-80s, early-90s that pushed the limits of technology and performance in the automotive world. It was essentially one of Ferrari’s best automobiles at the time and only 1,315 were produced from 1987 to 1992. It celebrated the 40th anniversary of the company and was the fastest, most expensive, and most powerful car to come out of Maranello.
Simply put, it is a rare and highly sought-after car, which makes this Ferrari F40 crash in Ontario, Canada very difficult to see. Today, these cars have fetched prices ranging from $1 million to 1.6 million at auction.
A Dodge Dart decided to run a red light at the wrong time and ended up smashing into this red Ferrari F40 while a mechanic was taking it out on a test drive. The mechanic clearly had the right-of-way, but could not Dodge the Dart.
Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the accident, but someone’s insurance company is going to be footing a very, very expensive bill to repair this rare supercar.
Here’s some Instagram Video of the aftermath:
