Turbocharged LT1 time!
At the start of 2013, Chevrolet rolled out their all-new C7 Corvette Stingray and ushered in a new generation of American performance. General Motors poured countless hours and billions of dollars into creating the best sports car possible, and it’s quite impressive. Even in base form (before all of the special performance versions are unveiled) the Corvette Stingray is quite the performer. But the team at Hennessey Performance isn’t going to just sit around and wait for GM to introduce their more powerful variants. They designed an all-new HPE1000 Corvette Stingray that’s packed with power.
One thousand is the magic number for horsepower on the HPE1000 Corvette Stingray. At 6,300 RPM, the all-new LT1 engine cranks out 1,000 ponies that force the rear wheels to claw at the road for grip.
Hennessey Performance has put together quite the package to boost power up to that special 1k-mark. The 6.2-liter V-8 was rebuilt with new forged aluminum pistons, forged steel rods and crankshaft, custom balancing, custom camshafts, and high-flow cylinder heads. A new fuel system supplies plenty of gasoline to all eight cylinders. The biggest boost in performance comes from the new pair of turbochargers with dual wastegates and electronic boost controller, fed by dual air induction filters, an air-to-air intercooler, and stainless steel inlet piping. A full stainless steel exhaust and turbo downpipes make sure backpressure is at a minimum, while a HPE engine management system and dyno testing ensures all components work in harmony, however hellish the engine may sound.
In addition to the twin-turbocharged engine upgrade, Hennessey Performance also includes new exterior badging, floor mats, and carbon fiber door sills as part of the package.
Customers that want even more can order other performance parts from Hennessey Performance for the C7 Corvette Stingray. CarbonAero bodywork along with Hennessey monoblock wheels and Michelin tires add a special look to the sports car while Brembo carbon ceramic brakes and Penske adjustable suspension improved on-track performance. Inside are optional carbon fiber trim pieces and custom leather fittings.
The Hennessey Performance HPE1000 C7 Corvette Stingray comes standard with a serial numbered dashboard and engine plaque, and a one-year/12,000-mile warranty.
