With this much power, you might as well call it the SL 65 AMG Black Series Roadster.
Mercedes-Benz and AMG have been producing some very powerful SL-Class models, with the most powerful being the SL65 AMG Black Series. However, the Black Series is only offered as a coupe. For owners wanting AMG performance and an open-air driving experience, their choices have been limited to either the SL63 AMG or SL65 AMG roadster. Inden Design has developed a package for the SL65 AMG Roadster that offers Black Series performance.
Compared to the Black Series, the stock SL65 AMG Roadster looks rather pedestrian. So, Inden created an exterior package that gave the Roadster more muscle, especially with the deep Black Sapphire paint. Up front the bumper and hood were both redesigned with larger intakes to feed cool air to the V-12. All four fenders have been extended to fit larger wheels and create an athletic stance. For improved aerodynamics, Inden has installed new side skirts that connect each of the bulging wheel arches. At the rear of the SL are a larger trunk spoiler, modified bumper, and diffuser that create additional downforce.
The Inden Design SL65 AMG has a dynamic and muscular stance due to the new wheel and tire combination and extended fenders. Inden’s three-piece Champion wheels are available in either a wide 11 x 20 or immense 13 x 20 fitment with 265/30 R20 or 325/25 R20 tires. Completing the stance is a new electronic control module for the suspension that lowers the car by 45 mm for an improved center of gravity.
Both SL65 AMG models use essentially the same 6.0-liter V-12, minus a few modifications. In stock form the Black Series has 57 more horsepower over the Roadster. But, after Inden Design is finished with their engine modifications, the Roadster is left with a total of 680 horses; 19 more than the Black Series. In addition to the horsepower bump, the speed limiter was also removed. With the top down, drivers can enjoy a thrilling experience and hear V-12 in all its glory with the Black Sapphire painted exhaust system.
Pricing for the Inden Design Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Roadster has not been released.
