This car was made for this.
The Gumpert Apollo Sport is one of those cars that is made for one thing – high-performance driving. It’s designed to tear up the race track and uses all sorts of custom-tailored parts along with a few goodies from the Audi parts bin to accomplish this goal.
Powering the Gumpert Apollo Sport is an Audi-sourced 4.2-liter V-8 engine strapped with a pair of turbochargers and tuned to 690 bhp in the Sport variant. That figure can rise up to 789 bhp in the Race version if you have a need for speed. Acceleration for the Apollo Sport to 62 mph takes just 3.0 seconds and top speed is all the way back at 223.7 mph.
Recently, a Gumpert Apollo Sport made an appearance at Spa-Francorchamps for a bit of driving and gave onlookers a show with some start-ups, revs, and beautiful exhaust notes.
