This drop-top is a little different.
Mansory is known for their outrageous and extravagant tuning programs for sports cars, super cars, and luxury automobiles. While they may not always be the most popular designs, one thing is for certain – there is always a fine attention to detail and quality. The latest conversion for the Audi R8 Spyder is just that; an acquired taste with expert craftsmanship and ample power.
The new Mansory R8 Spyder is a supercar capable of being daily driven with a little something extra. The German tuning company has developed an entire body kit for the Spyder that vastly improves its overall aerodynamics. Up front there is a new carbon fiber grille and spoiler attachments giving the R8 a more powerful face. New skirts run along each side and direct air away from the wheels. The side blades that were a main design element on the R8 Coupe were removed on the Spyder, but Mansory has installed new carbon fiber mini blades by the intakes at the rear. The rear has been redesigned with a new apron featuring air outlets, an integrated diffuser, and small spoiler. The new bodywork helps the Spyder achieve greater levels of grip by generating extra downforce.
But the look isn’t finished there. The Mansory R8 Spyder sits on lightweight forged wheels and a lowered suspension. Both axles wear Mansory’s five-spoke turbine design wheel in a 8.5J x 20 and 11 J x 20 front and rear fitment with 245/30 ZR 20 and 305/25 ZR 20 tires. The stance is completed with a lowered ride height that also contributes to improved handling due to a lower center of gravity.
In terms of power, the Mansory R8 Spyder is right on par with the Audi R8 GT Spyder 5.2 FSI. The 5.2-liter V-10 engine receives a sport air filter and sport exhaust system with oval tips that help push output to 552 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque.
The interior is, well, not as eye-popping as Mansory models of the past. The full range of leather, upholstery, stitching, and trim is available to customers is any color or finish. Mansory has made illuminated door sills, aluminum pedals, and even personalized door mats for the R8 Spyder.
The Mansory Audi R8 Spyder is currently on sale as a complete tuning package, not as a complete car. Customers can order the complete package and supply the car to Mansory. Pricing has not been released for the entire conversion.
