The M&D PD850 Black Edition.
One of the often overlooked models in the Mercedes-Benz lineup is the E-Class Coupe. It’s not that the two-door E-Class isn’t a good car; it’s just that there is such a wide range of options from the German brand that it’s often passed over. But, that’s a good thing because it means that this car is unique.
One owner of a 2009 E500 Coupe went to M&D Exclusive Cardesign with the desire to make his two-door E-Class even more special and sporty. What he got was a wide-body, 400+ horsepower sports car that isn’t afraid to tear up the boulevard.
M&D Exclusive Cardesign took the factory obsidian black metallic coupe and installed a full Prior Design PD850 Black Edition body kit. The kit gives the E500 a new face with its bumper bar, hood, red spoiler lip, and extended fenders. Curved side skirts lead air towards the powerful rear-end where extended fenders were fitted along with a new bumper with integrated diffuser and truck spoiler. The factory black paint was then replaced with a fresh coat of calcite white with new black and red elements, and company logo along each side.
The 5.5-liter V-8 engine was also tuned for performance and power by M&D Exclusive Cardesign. The naturally-aspirated V-8 was given a full stainless steel exhaust system with OEM SL65 AMG tailpipes to optimize backpressure and let the engine roar. A new software tune was also installed to push output to an impressive 401 horsepower and 413 lb-ft. of torque. The finishing touch is a matching red and black engine bay optics kit.
The M&D Exclusive Cardesign team then got to work on the Mercedes-Benz E500 Coupe’s chassis. Here, they installed a set of H&R performance springs that lower the center of gravity for better handling. A new set of black-finished PD1 wheels measuring 9.0 x 20 up front and 10.5 x 20 at the rear with Falken FK452 235/30R20 and 285/25R20 tires were also installed to fill in the extended fenders. In order to contrast the black wheels and white body, the two front brake calipers were finished in a vibrant red.
Inside, M&D Exclusive Cardesign gave the E-Class Coupe a touch of sport to match its newfound athleticism. An AMG facelift airbag steering wheel with shift paddles and AMG gearshifter was installed while all of the wood pieces were painted in a deep black finish. The German company also offers a full LED surroundings/location lighting system for the E500’s cockpit.
The M&D Exclusive Cardesign Mercedes-Benz E500 Coupe was built to satisfy one customer’s desires for an exclusive and sporty conversion. All of the parts and components are currently available from the aftermarket company.
