One peppy Frenchman.
The Renault Clio RS isn’t the biggest, the fastest, or most powerful car in its segment, but it is a fun little three-door. The Renault Sport version of the Clio III offers an exciting driving experience stock, but the folks at MR Car Design thought otherwise and lit a fire under the hot hatch.
The 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine hiding under the hood has been turned up a notch thanks to a few new upgrades. A 200-cell catalytic converter, Akrapovic exhaust system, and MR Car Design engine software were all installed and push output from the stock 200 horses to a dyno-tested 220 brake horsepower.
The Renault Clio RS isn’t just about power; it also handles well for a small car. MR Car Design fitted a new set of black 8 x 18 wheels along with 225/35 R 18 Michelin tires for better grip. The Clio III RS is also lowered and more dynamic due to a new KW coilover suspension system.
The entire MR Car Design Renault Clio III RS tuning program is currently available. The upgrades can be purchased as a whole or as individual units. Pricing has not been released.
