Tapping into some potential.
The new C7 Audi S6 may not have the same V-10 engine as the C6-generation model, but it’s packed with a more efficient and cleaner 4.0 TFSI that’s oozing with more potential than ever before. So, the team at MTM – Motoren Technik Mayer put their engineering and tuning knowledge to work and tuned the super sedan to create a 550+ horsepower thriller.
Led by Roland Mayer, who has been involved with Audi and the turbocharged five-cylinder used in the legendary Audi Quattro, the MTM team developed an electronic tuning upgrade that not only increased power but also pushed back the factory top speed. The factory 420 horsepower and 406 lb-ft. of torque being produced by the 4.0 TFSI, twin-turbocharged V-8 engine benefits from an M-Cantronic and V-Cantronic upgrade that ups output to 555 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of toque while pushing the top speed back to 180.2 mph. The M-Cantronic upgrade also connects to the C7 Audi S6’s MMI infotainment system and allows drivers to alter the performance at the push of a button. Both of the software upgrades can be paired up with a four-pipe stainless steel exhaust system that gives the sports car a more menacing sound.
“The performance-enhancing modification by intervening in the electronical engine management has absolutely no affect on the service life and environmental compatibility of the drive assembly,” says Roland Mayer, Managing Director of MTM GmbH, “It uses only the high potential of the Audi eight-cylinder engine.”
With 555 ponies are being sent to each of the four wheels via Quattro all-wheel drive, Mayer and his MTM team decided that it was necessary to upgrade the chassis of the Audi S6 so that it would be able to handle the added power with a touch of style. A newly developed F-Cantronic electronic module for C7 Audi A6 models is recommended for the air-spring suspensions and offers drivers the ability to adjust the ride height by up to 25 mm lower at the front and 20 mm at the rear. Four different in-house MTM Bitmoto wheels in forged and cast constructions with dimensions from 19- to 20-inches with/without spacers can be installed to create a wider footprint with a more aggressive stance. The final touch with the suspension is an MTM-Brembo brake upgrade that provides the comfort of the stock system with the aggressiveness and power to contrast the engine.
MTM – Motoren Technik Mayer is currently offering all of the products for the C7 Audi S6 model, while the braking system still in development. The M- and V-Cantronic package is available for 3,700 Euros and the exhaust for 4,300 Euros. The F-Cantronic suspension system is priced at about 1,700 Euros, and the wheel packages run from 2,100 to 5,200 Euros.
