It may be hard to believe, but the predecessor of the current Audi A4, the Audi 80, was introduced to the world 40 years ago. During that time Hans-Jürgen Abt of ABT Sportsline has been at the forefront of tuning the Audi model throughout its evolution into the new A4. The new ABT Sportsline B8 AS4 now features even more power than before along with all of the sporty upgrades that were originally featured on the car.
Based on the S4, the new B8 AS4 uses a tuned version of the 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 engine. ABT Sportsline has installed their new ABT Power technology that tunes the ECU on the engine and works along with a few other modifications. The standard 333 horsepower and 325 lb-ft. of torque is boosted by 102 horsepower and 59 lb-ft. of torque for a total of 435 horsepower and 384 lb-ft. This helps the new B8 AS4 scoot to a top speed of 175 mph (electronically limited), besting the standard top speed by 20 mph.
The ABT Sportsline AS4 is also offered with many of the same exterior and chassis upgrades as the other AS4 models not based on the S4. Customers can choose from either the lightweight CR or DR alloy wheels with corresponding performance tires for better grip, handling, and style.
All of the upgrades featured on the ABT Sportsline B8 AS4 based on the Audi S4 sedan are currently available as an entire package or as individual accessories. Pricing for the modifications have not been released.
