Taking things to a new level.
The TechArt GTstreet R has always been the model to push the performance envelope for the German company from its first inception. Over the generations, it has brought new levels of unthinkable performance and now, it’s doing the same with a hardcore aerodynamic kit, a monster engine upgrade, and precise chassis.
Based on the (991) Porsche 911 Turbo or 911 Turbo S, the TechArt GTstreet R features a full-on carbon fiber aerokit with active aerodynamics that can produce up to 708 lbs. of downforce at 186 mph in Performance Mode.
The TechArt GTstreet R has more presence thanks to a new front apron with active spoiler lip that generates downforce and optimizes cooling. Carbon airframes surround the lights while lateral flaps help capture and channel even more air. A three-dimensional TechArt logo sits atop the front hood where air outlets reduce lift.
As air moves across the body of the TechArt GTstreet R, it’s met by carbon fiber side skirts and channeled into the intercoolers through carbon fiber intakes at the rear fenders. Carbon fiber slats on the front fenders allow the front brakes to dissipate heat for better on-track performance.
Carbon fiber also dominates the rear of the TechArt GTstreet R. The lightweight material makes up the trim, diffuser, and even the quad centrally-mounted tailpipes. A large rear wing dominates the butt of the Porsche with its side panels and winglets. When Performance Mode is activated, the wing raises its angle by 15-degrees to generate more downforce.
Working alongside the downforce-inducing bodywork on the TechArt GTstreet R is an optimized chassis. Here, TechArt installed their VarioPlus coilovers with PDDC connectivity to sharpen things up. As an option, the TechArt Noselift system can raise the front axle by 60 mm at the push of a button.
Hitting the pavement are a range of weight-optimized alloy wheels measuring 20- or 21-inches in diameter. The centerlocking Formula IV Race wheels come with street-legal UHP tires while the larger 21-inch Formula IV wheels are shod in road tires. All of the wheels and even the brakes on the TechArt GTstreet R can be given customized finishes.
In terms of performance, TechArt has your entire power palette covered with a range of flavors. The German tuner has Powerkits suited for the entire range of factory outputs for the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six engines. At the top of the range is the Powerkit TA 091/T2.1 with 720 horsepower and 679 lb-ft. of torque that will be available early 2017. The most powerful upgrade currently available is the Powerkit TA 091/T1 with 680 horsepower and 620 lb-ft. of torque that shoots the TechArt GTstreet R to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, 124 mph in 10.8 seconds and to a top speed of 202 mph. Rounding it all off is a high-performance exhaust with stepless valve adjustment that optimizes backpressure.
Inside, customers can choose between two different designs in the TechArt GTstreet R. The Exclusive package includes fine leather while the Clubsport package features alcantara, a color-matches roll bar, six-point harnesses, and door-loop openers. Door panel inserts, seats, and more come with GTstreet R design stitching on both variants along with leather or alcantara door pillars, dashboard, sun visors, center console, and roof liner.
Additionally, the TechArt sport steering wheel with its smaller diameter, 12-o’clock indicator, and customized colors sits front and center ahead of the sport or sport bucket seats. The instrument dials can be color-coded alongside a range of other interior aspects. Carbon fiber trim pieces are also available for a sportier touch as well as door entry guards and aluminum pedals. A distinguishing milled GTstreet R signet with serial number is proudly displayed on and inside the glove compartment where the handmade GTstreet R wallet sits.
The new TechArt GTstreet R is currently available as a complete vehicle with a range of custom-tailored options that allows customers to create their own unique high-performance super car.
