Greatness from the early-90s.
Ever hear of the Lamborghini Sogna? Well, not many people have, either. It’s a special car that began its short life as a dream car for Ryoji Yamazaki’ego, hence the name “Sogna”, which means “dream” in Italian.
The design of the Lamborghini Sogna is very unique by today’s standards, resembling something out of a late-80’s futuristic action movie vehicle rather than a multi-million-dollar supercar.
Ryoji Yamazaki’ego’s dream car was created by the Japanese company, Art & Tech for the 1991 Geneva Motor Show. The company created only two models – one being an engine-less vehicle and the other being a complete car, capable of driving. The aforementioned engine-less car is currently on display at a museum, making the complete car a true one-off.
After making its debut at the 1991 Geneva Motor Show with a hefty price tag of about $1.6 million per car, the company abandoned the limited-production project. Aside from the otherworldly styling, the Sogna was an impressive vehicle. It was based on a Lamborghini Countach LP5000 S and featured aluminum bodywork and special scissor doors. Powering the Sogna was a 5.2-liter V-12 engine packing 455 horsepower and an approximate top speed of 186 mph.
After being forgotten, Japanese dealer, Enmann, is selling the 1994 Lamborghini Sogna in Osaki-shi, Japan. The one-off car has only 1,118 miles on the odometer and is priced at € 2,380,000 (approx. $3.3 million).
It’s a chance to own a piece of one-off aftermarket motoring history.
