Corvette Racing was expected to be very competitive at the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans in GTE Pro, and were at the head of the pack until some unfortunate events put them in fifth place class finish. The Corvette Racing C6 ZR-1 race cars are always a fan favorite due to their raw power and thunderous V-8 exhaust note that roars down the track.
As a treat for us, Jordan Taylor of the No. 73 Corvette Racing ZR-1 strapped on a helmet camera to give us a first-hand view of one lap at Le Mans during night practice. The video shows how alert the driver must be to his surroundings including the faster cars that are passing him constantly in addition to being subject to extreme lateral-G forces as he races around the track.
