Turn your office into a Porsche motorsport paradise.
Sometimes Porschephiles just can’t get enough of their favorite German brand, even when they’re at work or in their home office. So, the team at Porsche Design created a new Driver’s Selection Furniture made for the enthusiast’s office space. The new range of products includes a real rear wing spoiler from a 911 racer as a bookshelf, a 911 chair, and a 1:8 scale limited-edition 918 Spyder model to add some octane to a bland work environment.
Instead of the basic, boring office chair, the new Driver’s Selection Porsche 911 chair brings the feeling of a rear-engined flat-six-powered sports car to your desk. The chair is a genuine 991-generation 911 sport seat trimmed in black car upholstery leather with an embossed Porsche emblem on the headrest and jacket hanger on the back. The seat features full electronic adjustments including backrest functions with a built-in power pack, three-axis adjustability, and a swivel base with five castors for optimum rolling. New technology offered in the 911 such as Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), rear-axle steering, and PASM are not available for the new Driver’s Selection 911 office chair. Driver’s can engage a launch control feature using both of their feet on the floor. An automatic start-stop function for better fuel economy also comes standard.
For those that have a full bookshelf and want to add a little German motorsport spice to their office, there is the new Driver’s Selection Wall shelving GT3 Cup. The bookshelf is made from a rear carbon fiber Porsche 911 GT3 Cup’s rear spoiler and measures 171 cm in length. A Porsche logo is worn on each side blade of the spoiler that weighs in at about 11 lbs. (5 kg). For those that love books, the Driver’s Selection Wall shelving GT3 Cup is capable of holding up to 264.5 lbs. (120 kg) of reading material or office space downforce.
The perfect piece to add to a desk or shelf is the new 1:8 scale Porsche 918 Spyder resin model. The new model is limited to just 918 units and boasts incredible attention to detail. The supercar wears a Liquid Metal Silver finish and comes with a limited edition badge on a wooden plinth in 69 x 36 x 26 cm acrylic case.
All three of the new pieces for the Driver’s Selection from Porsche Design will be available in January, 2014 and can be purchased from Porsche Centers worldwide and Porsche AG official online shops. However, not all of the products will be available worldwide.
