Porsche by Design: Seducing Speed

Coming to the North Carolina Museum of Art.

Porsche and racing go hand-in-hand. In its early days, the small German automaker took a different approach to research, development, and even marketing by investing heavily in motorsports. They essentially let their cars do the talking and it has helped them create some of the best sports cars on the planet.

The North Carolina Museum of Art will be showcasing the Porsche by Design: Seducing Speed exhibit in the fall, showcasing the history of the German automaker from the 1930’s to today. Vehicles owned by Ralph Lauren, Steve McQueen, and Janis Joplin will be on display alongside the one-off Panamericana concept car.

As part of the exhibit, Porsche created a film that details how racing greatly influenced their products throughout the company’s history and how it led to advanced technology that set them apart from the competition.

The Porsche by Design: Seducing Speed exhibit will open on October 12, 2013 to the public at the North Carolina Museum of Art and tickets will be $18.00 for adults. For more information on the upcoming exhibit, visit the North Carolina Museum of Art’s website.
