2014 can’t come soon enough.
Porsche is coming back to LMP1 in the World Endurance Championship series for the 2014 season. It’s been quite a long time since the German automaker has been involved in this high-level of racing, but its coming back and looking to make a statement.
Porsche has been working tirelessly to create the new LMP1 racecar and their latest pair of videos showcases their effort and excitement. One of the most interesting aspects of the new car will undoubtedly be its powertrain and engine, which Porsche has teased us with in their latest video. Unfortunately, they blur out the engine throughout the video, although at the 0:47-mark there is a “TDFI” badge on display, hinting at it being a diesel.
Former Formula 1 driver, Mark Webber, along with Neel Jani, Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas will all be piloting the new LMP1 racecar, and we cannot wait to see it on the track.
