Going Clubsport.
The new generation of BMW M3 and M4 might be the king of the Autobahn, but the high-revving, V-8 of the E9X M3 is still loads of fun. The team at MR Car Design recently took one client’s E90 M3 to the next level with their Clubsport upgrade program, and it’s ready to tear up the track.
The 4.0-liter V-8 engine packed under the hood is mighty fun thanks to the new MR Car Design Clubsport upgrade package. The ECU’s software was tuned by the German company, and a new Akrapovic EVO exhaust system was added to optimize backpressure and give the M3 a more vocal character. The result is a thrilling 450 horsepower and 317 lb-ft. of torque. The added power also pushes the top speed past 180 mph.
The four-door BMW M3 also gained quite the chassis setup to rip through corners. The black-finished wheels were given stickier 245/35/19 front and 265/35/19 rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, and extended outwards by 10 mm at the front and 15 mm at the rear thanks to new spacers. A KW Clubsport Variant 2 coilover kit works with an H&R stabilizer kit and custom-tailored alignment to perfectly optimize handling dynamics. Bringing it all to a stop are yellow-painted, six-piston Stoptech brakes with 380 x 35 mm discs, the rear of which sport EBC pads with Fischer steel lines and SuperPro jacks.
Visually, the BMW M3 is all M. MR Car Design gave the sports sedan the special blue and red M-colors in the form of stripes on the front and rear bumpers. A light blue windshield wedge adds to the visual impact as does the red front tow strap.
The inside even got a makeover as well from MR Car Tuning. As part of the Clubsport program, the M3 was outfitted with a Wiechers rollover bar with cross-brace, and a rear strut brace. For added safety and style, new black Schroth Profi III-FE asm seatbelts were also installed.
The new MR Car Design BMW M3 Clubsport is a glimpse of the upgrades that are available to clients from the German company. Upgrade programs such as this are available on a variety of other BMW models as well.
