RENNtech’s new SLS Tuning and Long Tube Headers unleash the Beast

Listen to that 6.2-liter growl.

The Mercedes-Benz specialists at RENNtech Inc. have just unveiled a SLS tuning package for the potent AMG model. The main attraction of the kit is the new long tube header system that reduces backpressure and increases low-end power while giving the 6.2-liter V-8 a hellish sound.

The new RENNtech long tube headers were made specifically to accommodate the deisgn of the SLS and its 6.2-liter V-8 engine. Each of the long tube headers are made using high quality tri-metal covered in a ceramic coating to reduce stress from high exhaust temperatures and decrease the heat generated in the engine compartment. The two headers feature special 200-cell high performance catalytic converters to reduce backpressure even further. The long tube design of the headers allows the engine to produce more low-end power, leading to a quicker response.

In addition to the new RENNtech long tube headers, the Florida-based company also offers a SLS package 1 kit that includes an ECU tune. With the ECU tune and headers, output for the SLS AMG climbs to an impressive 608 horsepower and 519 lb-ft. of torque. Not to mention the SLS AMG sounds otherworldly after the upgrade.
