Bugatti has collaborated to create a number of high-end accessories ranging from timepieces to hookahs. Now, they’ve branched out a bit further into the fashion industry with the new Roland Iten R22 Mk.I-22mm “Bugatti Edition” belt.
Designer Roland Iten has been working with mechanical belt buckles for quite some time using his love for mechanical engineering to create some spectacular pieces with the highest quality and finish. The Swiss-based company’s master craftsmen build their belt buckles using only precise watch-making machinery and the finest materials.
The new Roland Iten R22 Mk.I-22mm “Bugatti Edition” is the perfect display of innovative mechanics combined with the finest materials to reflect the character of the Bugatti Veyron. Exactly 100 components made from solid white and rose gold, titanium, and stainless steel were handcrafted into an intertwined symphony of cogs, bridges, wheels, springs, and pinions. Every aspect of the Roland Iten R22 Mk.I-22mm “Bugatti Edition” is handcrafted and polished by the company’s master craftsman while being supervised by Iten himself.
The new Roland Iten R22 Mk.I-22mm “Bugatti Edition” features an innovative mechanism that allows for the precise fit for any size within a 22 mm range. A special “engrenage” function utilizes flow-guiding wheels incorporated into the gear system’s teeth for minimal friction and a unique “click-free-click”. Instead of the traditional “Breguet Tooth” cog, Roland Iten uses Cog Wheels that virtually eliminate friction for increased longevity and a “rolling click” or “click-free-click” as referred to by Roland Iten.
The Roland Iten R22 Mk.I-22mm “Bugatti Edition” uses a total of five gears that allow for the adjustment from 0-22 mm. Smoked sapphire crystals and a Côtes de Genève decoration sit atop of and allow the rolling click calibration lock complication, vertical rolling friction pin, and mechanically-leveraged belt insertion clip mechanics to peek through.
Only 22 examples of the Roland Iten R22 Mk.I-22mm “Bugatti Edition” will be produced for a price of approximately $84,000.
