Supporting the FAB1 Project for Breast Cancer Care.
Back in the 1960s, when all kinds of far-out entertainment were commonplace, one of the shows on British television was the science-fiction series, Thuderbirds. The show featured a special pink and amphibious Rolls Royce dubbed “FAB1” that characters, Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward and Aloysius “Nosey” Parker, used to chase down the bad guys.
Almost 50 years later, the FAB1 is making a comeback to kick breast cancer’s butt. Rolls Royce has teamed up with the FAB1 Million project and Breast Cancer Care to raise money in the fight against breast cancer. With breast cancer being the most common type of cancer in the UK, the partnership between Rolls Royce and the two charities was a perfect match.
“When I received the call from Chris Evans to support FAB1 Million, we immediately sprang into action,” said Jolyon Nash, Sales and Marketing Director. “It’s taken countless hours to create such a special car but every minute spent is absolutely worth it for such a valuable cause. We wish the project every success.”
To support the FAB1 Million project and Breast Cancer Cares, Rolls Royce has created a custom-tailored Ghost Extended Wheelbase model outfitted with all sorts of special pink fittings. Each of the headrests was hand-embroidered with the Breast Cancer Care pink ribbon motif and the standard umbrellas wear pink accents. Bespoke “FAB1” door entry sills greet passengers and a special blend of Pink and Crème Light interior leather color scheme creates a luxurious atmosphere. The exterior wears a vibrant pink paint and is contrasted by the silver satin hood with an uplit Spirit of Ecstasy stares ahead.
The Rolls Royce Ghost “FAB1” Extended Wheelbase will be available for hire for the next 12 months in the UK. With this in mind, the Rolls Royce team outfitted the super luxury sedan with special hand-veneered picnic tables, 9.2-inch LED screens, and a champagne coolbox so that rear seat passengers can indulge in comfort and luxury.
The new FAB1 Million project to raise £1 million to benefit Breast Cancer Cares begins on Thursday, April 18th with a point-to-point drive from Land’s End to John O’Groats. Afterwards, the FAB1 Rolls Royce Ghost will be available for hire for any occasion in the UK, with all proceeds benefitting Breast Cancer Care.
