Racing for glory in a W201.
Everyone loves a good hillclimb, especially when it’s a late ‘80s/early ‘90s German car. At the Mickhausen track earlier this year, Reto Meisel piloted a Mercedes-Benz W201 RM1 V8 through all of the twists and turns.
Instead of the Cosworth 2.3 or 2.5 engines under the hood, the Mercedes hillclimb car had been equipped with a 9,900-RPM Judd V-8 putting out 564 bhp and a Hewland six-speed sequential gearbox. The hillclimb video shows a number of interesting camera angles including one that gives us a unique look at the suspension as the RM1 V8 tackles the turns.
If you want to skip the music, fast forward to 1:52.
