The new Audi Q5, the smaller sibling of the Q7, has been successful since it was introduced due to its modest size, sporty drive, and modern styling. Senner Tuning has optimized the car with subtle modifications to make the Q5 a sport oriented SUV that is made for the twisties, not the dirt.
The basis for the transformation was an Audi Q5 2.0 TDI S-Tronic. The stock 168 horsepower turbodiesel inline-four sends power to all four wheels through a seven-speed S Tronic transmission. Senner Tuning wanted to optimize the power output even further so they installed new sport air filters, an ECU tune, and dual 100 mm stainless steel sport exhaust system. With the Senner Tuning Q5 program, the output of the four-pot rises to 213 horsepower and 328 lb-ft. of torque.
As part of the Senner Tuning Q5 program, Senner has also focused on tweaking the exterior styling. The brown metallic Q5 wears an NSW black radiator grille, a new front bumper with matching lacquer, roof edging, and more conspicuous exhaust tips. The front and rear wheel arches have been borrowed from the bigger Q7 to create a more muscular stance.
The exterior of the Senner Tuning Q5 is finished off with a new wheel and tire upgrade that offers a sportier appearance. The front and rear axle has been fitted with 10.5 x 22 Corniche Monza wheels with a diamond black polish and Ultrac Sessanta 265/35 R 22 tires. Behind the wheels are Brembo six-piston brake calipers clamping down on 380 mm discs for unrelenting stopping power.
Inside, Senner Tuning has taken steps to give the Q5 a cockpit that is equally as sporty as the drive. The dashboard, center console, door cards, and monitor frame all wear a new coat of carbon fiber. The doors, armrests, steering wheel, and gauge cluster cover have been dressed in black leather with contrasting orange stitching. New floor mats with the Senner Tuning emblem complete the luxury finishes. Senner Tuning has also installed new electronics such as a remote controlled module that opens the rear doors, and a DVD player mounted inside the dashboard.
The Senner Tuning Audi Q5 tuning program is currently available as a complete car or as individual accessories from the German Tuner. Pricing has not been released.
