Speeding through Europe in a 735-HP wagon.
One of the biggest high-end automotive events in the world is the super car parade known as the Gumball 3000. From May 1st to May 6th, 120 cars and drivers traveled from Dublin, Ireland to Bucharest, Romania, making quite a few stops in between to “rest” as crowds gathered to enjoy the fun.
The 2016 Gumball 3000 saw one of the most-watched automotive Youtube personalities speeding around in a very rare wagon. Tim Burton, aka ‘Shmee150’, teamed up with ABT Sportsline to drive their ABT RS6 1 of 12 models based on the high-performance Audi RS6 Avant.
Made to celebrate the brand’s 120th anniversary, the ABT RS6 1 of 12 proved to be a perfect Gumball 3000 vehicle due to its capabilities, performance, fuel economy, quiet cabin for filming, and high-tech gadgetry. The large canvas for stickers was also a huge plus.
Since 1999, the Gumball 3000 has seen numerous celebrities take part in the 3,000-mile rally across Europe. From directors like Quentin Tarantino to rapper, Xzibit, professional skaters like Tony Hawk, and even professional drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, the event has drawn a wide range of attention from around the world in rare exotics and super cars.
This year’s event saw Shmee150 take a custom-wrapped ABT RS6 1 of 12 with 735 horsepower across Europe and document the fun and excitement of the rally.
“Driving the event in the ABT RS6 1 of 12 with a mere 735hp, we as Team #120 will be keeping up with anyone and creating daily videos of all the action.
