Some new Caymans are coming to Geneva in March.
As automakers get ready to unveil some of their newest concepts, production cars, and race cars at the 2013 Geneva International Motor Show, quite a few car tuning companies are also preparing their latest models and packages that will hit center stage. German-based tuner, speedART, is readying a range of third-generation Porsche Caymans with their latest SP81-CR upgrade packages for the auto show and were kind enough to give us all a little sneak peek.
The new speedART SP81-CR Porsche Cayman models will have a full range of engine tuning packages for what we’re guessing is the naturally-aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six. Details on what modifications will be used haven’t been released except for the range of sport exhaust systems with optional sound switches, but you can expect an ECU tune and air intake system upgrade at the minimum. Each package will have 345-, 360-, and 400-horsepower outputs, ensuring that the rear-wheel drive sports car is more fun than ever before.
In terms of the Cayman’s exterior, speedART will offer a bi-color body kit as part of the SP81-CR program. The kit will include a new front chin spoiler, side panels with carbon fiber applications, a retro-styled hood with openings at the front, rear air outlets, and a rear spoiler and diffuser set for added downforce.
The SP81-CR Porsche Cayman will also be available with a number of suspension and wheel options. In-house LSC-forged (Light Spoke Competition) will be available in 9.0 x 21 and 12.0 x 21 fitments or optionally as 8.5 x 20 and 10.5 x 20 sizes. Behind the wheels will be an adjustable sport suspension that will likely lower the overall ride height of the sports car along with an optional lift system to avoid obstacles.
Inside, customers will be able to choose from a range of trim applications as well as a number of leather and alcantara fittings.
