Owned by Steve Tarpley and Dave Smith, SNT Motorsports Development is the go-to place for those looking to bring their passion to the racetrack. The California-based company offers customers a special menu of motorsports schooling and race-prep goodies, featuring stock and sports car road racing and driver coaching. Everything from building a race car to individual driver instruction is available at SNT Motorsports Development.

Both owners offer a wealth of experience from different aspects of the automobile industry and racing to SNT Motorsport Development, making it the premier coaching company in the United States.

Owner and Driver, Steve Tarpley, brings an enthusiastic approach to automobiles and racing to SNT Motorsports Development. In 2008 he bought a factory red Ford GT, a retro super car that brought back memories of Ford’s Le Mans-winning days in the GT40. After meeting Dave Smith, SNT Motorsports Development was born and with it, a Ford GT racecar.

Owner and Driver, Dave Smith, possesses a valuable understanding of the inner workings of motorsport. In the early part of his career, Smith worked as a full-time mechanic for C.A.R.T. (Championship Auto Racing Teams), Indy Lights Series, and I.R.L. (Indy Racing League). The experience that Smith gained from working in the pits gave him a competitive advantage with racing. His knowledge of different aspects such as the mechanical design of a car, specific setups, and the communication between crew and driver can all be the difference between finishing first and last.

Since then, Tarpley and Smith have grown SNT Motorsports into a respected driver coaching group. In 2011, they purchased Chris Cook Performance, the driver development and coaching specialists that have instructed famous drivers such as Tony Stewart, Joey Logano, AJ Allmendinger, Clint Bowyer, and others. With the addition, SNT Motorsports Development has become the premier road course coaching programs in the United States. An entire fleet of stock cars setup for road courses will be used to coach NASCAR teams and drivers with state-of-the-art technology for a competitive edge.

On December 4th and 5th, SNT Motorsports Development will be participating in the NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill race in Willows, California. The annual event is the longest endurance race in North America and tests the limits of man and machine. Both amateur and professional teams race during the 25 Hours of Thunderhill in a mix of rain, sun, and even snow. SNT Motorsports will be racing their No.15 Ford GT, the same car originally purchased by Tarpley, in the grueling race. Dave Smith and Steve Tarpley will be piloting the Ford GT along with professional drivers Tomy Drissi and Jared Thompson, and Kai Goddard, one of MotoringExposure’s closest friends.
