Going for a drive after 24 years.
In 1989, Rick Lookebill was forced to part ways with the first car he ever had – a 1972 Mustang Mach 1. The first car an automotive enthusiast owns will always hold a special place in their hearts, no matter how good or bad it was which is what makes this reunion is such a great sight to behold.
Lookebill and his family ran across the car in 1999 in Clinton, Illinois, but the car remained in someone else’s possession until April, 2013. As of late, Lookebill had a bit of a “spark” of interest in finding his first car and him and his family were actually able to track it down, but he never bought the car. His son and other family members decided that they would surprise him by contacting the owner and buying it for him.
On April 28th, with all of the family there to see, the 1972 Mustang Mach 1 was driven into the driveway to an amazed Rick Lookebill. Since selling the car in 1989, nothing has been done to the body, making this even more special.
How did their father thank his children for the surprise of a lifetime? By doing a burnout in the road.
