Custom-tailored looks for the GT V8 S.
Startech, the British-focused division of Brabus was quite busy at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show strutting their latest and greatest. Alongside various Land Rover, Range Rover, and Jaguar models were a line of Bentleys with a more aggressive personality. But, nothing matched the snarl of the Startech Bentley Continental GT V8 S Coupe.
Wearing a coat of carbon fiber aerodynamics, the new Startech model was all about custom-tailored looks and speed. Up front sits a carbon fiber spoiler beneath two carbon fiber air intakes that give the luxury sports car a more menacing look while reducing lift.
As air runs towards the rear, it’s met by carbon panels on the side air intakes, new side skirts, and new C-blade air deflectors on the rear window. Each component helps to optimize airflow to reduce drag and improve aerodynamics for better stability at high speeds. To emphasize the more intimidating look, the chrome body work and trim has all been painted black.
Sitting at the rear of the Startech Bentley Continental GT V8 S Coupe is a carbon fiber diffuser that houses a centrally-mounted LED light module similar to the design of those found on Formula 1 cars. The diffuser also accommodates the quad billet aluminum tailpipes mated to the optional V-8 or W-12 Startech sport exhausts with valve control.
The new, more aggressive Startech carbon fiber aerodynamics are matched by new in-house monoblock wheels with an elegant five-spoke design. The Startech Monostar G forged wheels provide the Bentley Continental GT V8 S Coupe with a lightweight solution to high-speed motoring and wear a body-colored finish with contrasting orange pinstriping, matching the interior and brake calipers. At both the front and rear axles, the Startech Monostar G wheels measure 10.0J x 22 and wear 295/30 ZR22 tires.
Inside is where the real custom-tailored fun begins. Here, Startech’s interior designers gave the featured Bentley Continental GT V8 S Coupe a unique blend of leather upholstery and special accessories. A body-matching two-tone grey and anthracite perforated leather with unique patterns adorns all of the seats including the headliner. A vibrant orange centerline runs down the headliner and is matched by the interior piping and stitching from the steering wheel to the door panels.
Carbon fiber trim pieces are each color-coordinated to the leather interior for a smooth aesthetic. Customers can choose from the Startech, Bentley, or any other logos on the headrests, floor mats, and illuminated door projector light. Facing the driver is a new instrument cluster with upgraded 400 km/h speedometer, tachometer, and custom-colored dials, needles, and graphics. To finish it all off, the entire trunk and mat was trimmed in quilted orange leather.
Startech is also currently developing a full engine upgrade package for both the twin-turbocharged V-8 and W-12 engines for the Bentley Continental model range that will be available at a later date.
