An American legend opens up.
The Ford GT40 is an American icon that took down the Prancing Horses of Ferrari and shocked the world. Its legacy will always live on in a David vs. Goliath-type storyline where the improbable team at Ford, headed by Carroll Shelby defeated a racing institution from Italy. The result was four-straight 24 Hours of Le Mans victories from 1966 to 1969.
The dominance of the Ford GT40 is internationally known and one of the MkII models went out for a very spirited drive at Spa-Francorchamps to show us that it still has it after all of these years.
The best part about the video is that it races alongside the same Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe that Carroll Shelby had previously owned.
That’s a lot of money and heritage between two cars going all-out on the track!
