Sixty-five snakes.
The term “snake bitten” is often used to describe someone who is unlucky, jinxed, and/or ill-fated. It’s not something that you would like to be described as being, but for one couple in Texas, they are more than happy to be called “snake bitten.”
D’Ann and Wayne Rauh are two Texans that have quite the automobile collection. They have over 100 cars total, but the most amazing part of it is that they probably have the largest collection of Vipers in the world. The two own an astonishing 65 Vipers, ranging from the non-street-legal Viper SRT10 ACR-X to the new 2013 SRT Viper GTS.
They began collecting Vipers back in 2006 when her husband set out to purchase one in Illinois. After finding out that the one he had his heart set on was sold, he secretly bought the one his wife had her eye on. Since then the collection has grown considerably. Every day D’Ann and Wayne have to drive certain cars that haven’t seen the road in a few days (oh what a terrible dilemma) to keep them running properly. D’Ann even has bags that match her Vipers when she goes for a drive.
Don’t expect their Viper collection to remain at 65 cars either. With the new SRT Viper on the market, you can probably bet there will be a few new additions to the Snake Nest.
