Superchips gives the TT-RS 401 Horses

Audi’s high-performance turbo-five breaks the 400 hp mark.

The latest turbocharged TT from Audi combines the famous Quattro all-wheel drive system with a turbocharged five-cylinder engine, bringing back memories of the legendary “Ur-Quattro.” Boasting 338 bhp stock, the new TT RS is the most powerful TT model available. But, the engineering team at Superchips saw chance to unleash the 2.5-liter’s full potential.

The brain behind the potent 2.5-liter is the Bosch ME9 ECU, helping to produce a healthy 338 bhp and 344 lb-ft of torque. After testing and research, the Superchips team was able to alter the engine’s ignition, fueling, and boost setting to free up 65 bhp and 69 lb-ft of torque, raising the output to an impressive 401 bhp and 406 lb-ft of torque. Although the Superchips TT-RS tuning program unleashes a considerable amount of power, it does not result in increased fuel consumption. While independent testing has not been completed, the TT-RS is expected to reach 60 mph in less than 4.6 seconds. The electronically limited 155 mph top speed is left unchanged for safety reasons.

Customers interested in receiving an ECU remap for their TT-RS can order one of Superchips’ bluefin ‘plug and go’ handsets, which allows for easy DIY TT-RS tuning. Customers can plug the handset into the OBDII diagnostic port and retune the ECU. Alternatively, customers can visit one of Superchips’ 100 dealerships in the U.K.

The ECU tune for the Superchips TT-RS includes a 12-month/30,000 mile supplementary full vehicle warranty and a full customer service guarantee. The retune can be purchased directly from Superchips or from its U.K dealer network for £445.00 including VAT @ 17.5% (+/- 665 USD).
